Great Weight Loss Tips: Best Supplements For Weight Loss

Why Supplement Your Diet?

Everything we eat has an effect on our health. While determining the best supplements for weight loss, we need to understand what might be causing the weight gains in the first place. The nutrition we receive from food determines the quality of the nutrients in our blood, which affects our cell repair and growth, tissue health, organ performance, and even our minds. Choosing foods that supply the bloodstream with adequate vitamins and minerals is essential to maintaining good health. In the absence of high quality whole foods, choosing the best supplements for weight loss will insure nutrients too critical to leave to chance.

Whole foods are in their most complete and natural state; they are unrefined and do not contain harmful chemicals and additives which damage our bodies (see article-Food Taste Enhancers). Incorporating whole foods into our daily diet enables our bodies to become strong and healthy. Once we are physically healthier, we can begin to live a more vibrant, full life.

Correcting and improving our nutrition will improve vitality, endurance, longevity, and build a team of top performing organs to assist the body to move toward optimal health.

Supplements for Nutritional Insurance?

Researchers, scientists, and industry observers, since the mid-1980s have publicized that our foods are not as complete nutritionally as they used to be. Notable is a Rutgers University extensive report on the lack of nutritional value in everyday commercial fruits and vegetables bought at any supermarket vs. those purchased as organic. The crops harvested from nutrient depleted soils contained only 8 – 10 % of the nutrient values of those crops harvested from organic soils.

Harvesting crops from nutrient depleted soils, processing, shipping, storage and preparation/cooking style all take their nutritional toll. Additionally, the nutritional deficiency problem of manufactured foods for restaurant and home consumption, plus the prominence of the ‘fast food” industry for eating “on the run”, has fostered an environment of nutritional deficiency.

Soft drinks deplete calcium levels, dangerous excitotoxins masquerading as Food Taste Enhancers (see article Food Taste Enhancers) injure neuro-pathways, and high sugar levels lead to blood glucose problems.
As a nation of speed eaters and grazers, we are just no longer eating the raw, wholesome, nutrient-loaded foods of yesteryear.

THE MAIN REASON TO ADD FOOD SUPPLEMENTS TO YOUR LIFESTYLE IS TO BRING YOUR NUTRIENT INTAKE AT LEAST UP TO RDA
STANDARDS, AND IN A NUMBER OF HEALTH SITUATIONS, HIGHER. IF YOU CANNOT OR WILL NOT ADJUST YOUR DIET TO INSURE YOU GET OPTIMAL NUTRITION EACH AND EVERY DAY, THEN YOU MUST ADD QUALITY FOOD SUPPLEMENTS TO YOUR DIET.

Why Protein?

Protein is critically important because of the amino acid content. There are nine essential amino acids that make up protein and each of these amino acids must be consumed everyday in different amounts to start the process that builds the 22 life support systems for optimal health.

The key is that the protein cannot be heated over 110 degrees or the amino acid activity is lost by approximately 50%. If they are in short supply then the body will rob them from the storage cells, which is constantly depleting within our bodies.
Protein cannot be utilized or metabolized without adequate presence of B3, B6, Potassium, phosphorus, and carbohydrates.
Let’s look at the functions of the amino acids.

  1. Rebuilds the immune system
  2. Rebuilds the connective tissue
  3. Rebuilds the muscle tissue
  4. Rebuilds the bone tissue
  5. Rebuilds the nerve fiber
  6. Rebuilds collagen & connective tissue
  7. Grade one energy source
  8. Special antibody production
  9. Muscle nerve fiber combination

A vegetable soy protein fills all the requirements for protein if it’s processed with no heat and “water washed”. The estrogen connection is well documented and the phytoestrogens content of soy has scientists and nutritionists enthusiastic about its use in our diets.

Whey protein performs as well, for those that are soy intolerant.

Why Multi-Vitamin/Mineral?

Vitamins and the RDA recommendations set by the U.S. government are designed to prevent a dietary deficiency, which may result in disease. The U.S. RDA for vitamin C is 60 mg. This amount is determined to prevent scurvy; certainly not enough to maintain high immune system strength required to battle free radicals. To prevent various cancers, reduce plaque in the arteries, and prevent cataracts you certainly should consider more than 60 mg per day.

The Multi-Vitamin/Mineral supplement is a broad-spectrum product designed to bring up the vitamin and trace mineral content in order to feed the cells. It’s important to consider an organic, natural product that is cold temperature processed in order to retain the value of the nutrients that nature placed in the original plant source, and includes bioflavonoids, photochemicals and carotenoids.

The B-vitamins should be taken as a complex. Many broad spectrum multivitamins on the market include only the inexpensive (though still important) B-vitamins and leave out others such as Biotin.

When you try to lose weight, what do you do? Cut calories, of course, but
if you cut your calories too low; your body slows down your metabolism to try to maintain fat levels.
